Happy Friday! To kick off your weekend I am excited to share a Siobhan’s inspirational story with you all today. Siobhan and I went to college together, and I got to know her through our Spanish classes. She is a sweet, kind hearted, strong, amazing woman, and I am honored to share her story with you all today.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
“A time in my life I was faced with a challenge was when I was diagnosed with postpartum cardiomyopathy. When my daughter was 6 weeks old I went to the doctor because an ER pediatrician urged me to go because of swelling she noticed on my neck. I saw my regular doctor and was told it was nothing but if it would make me feel better blood work and ultra sound could be done. After results came back immediately I was diagnosed with gall stones and needed to have surgery that day. The surgeon found out that gall stones were not my issue, it was the fact I had a blood clot on my heart and my heart wasn’t functioning properly (only working 2%). Being in the hospital for two weeks, wearing a defibrillator, taking 15+ medicines, and not being allowed or able to care for myself or my daughter was a challenge and a test of my faith. I was not expected to get better and I was told an option would be a heart transplant. But I became stronger mentally, physically, and spiritually.”
What is Siobhan’s definition of Sugar and Strength?
“My definition of “Sugar and Strength” is seeing the sweetness of grace and mercy in your life to beat the odds to overcome.”
