I have decided to make the recipes on my blog a little more “reader friendly”, and make it so you can print them out.  Can we all say, welcome to 2017 blogging Annie, it’s about time.  Yeah..I know I’m a little behind on the times, but better late than never, am I right?!  Now I’m not going to promise I am going to go back and update all of my current recipes on here to make them reader friendly, but I will give it my best shot.  I only say that because my spare time has dwindled down to “not happening”.  Anyone else in the same boat?  You want to do “X, Y, Z” but find yourself putting it off because “adulting” happens, which at times causes the fun stuff to be put on hold.  I’ve been re-purposing an old piece of wooden furniture that has been in my family for 40+ years,  I thought it would be a cool accent piece to put in our living room.  I started in July, 10 weeks later I only need to put on a second coat of sealant and I’ll be done; the first coat of sealant was applied three weeks ago.  This piece of wood furniture is a chair people, a chair!  On average this would have been done in 3 days.
Enough talk about chairs and lack of time, let’s get back on track and talk about my triple chocolate chip brownies.  I cannot lie, I definitely “winged” it with this brownie recipe.  I pieced together ingredients I already had in my kitchen, prayed for the best, and the final product turned into these delicious brownies that were the perfect end to a family meal.  If you do not like one or all of the chips I used in the brownies, switch them out for what you do like (or already have in your pantry).
Another plus to these brownies, I did not have to whip out Daisy May (my Kitchen Aide) and dirty up 13 dishes while making them…quick, easy, and minimal clean up.  Try them out for your Labour Day cookout, and don’t forget the ice cream 🙂

 

 

Triple Chip Brownies

Ingredients

  • 2/3 C. Vegetable Oil
  • 2/3 C. Buttermilk
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 C. Sugar
  • 1 1/2 C. Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/3 C. Dark Cocoa Powder
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 C. White Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 C. Butterscotch Chips
  • 1/2 C. Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips

Instructions

  1. With a hand whisk, mix together oil, buttermilk, eggs, sugar and vanilla extract
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa powder together in a separate bowl, then add to sugar mixture
  3. Pour batter into a 9x13 glass baking dish that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray
  4. Bake at 350 for 33-35 minutes
  5. Enjoy with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream!
