No Fear

No Fear

Last Sunday we had a number of different speakers during service.  One of the speakers spoke on freedom in purpose.  There was one sentence she uttered that has been on my mind every day since…”what is freedom to you?  Freedom to me, is no fear“.  No fear.  Think about this, what if we were able to live our lives with no fear.

Fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of losing, fear of man, fear of embarrassment, fear of disappointment.

We were not created to live a life of fear and bondage, we have been created for a life of purpose.  That purpose can only be fulfilled if we break through the wall that holds us back from our potential.  If we truly look at what holds us back, WE hold ourselves back.  In our past there have been words uttered or actions performed by the hands of society that have caused us to build a wall of fear in order to protect ourselves from ever trying.

I used to live with fear of man.  If I did not live the way that others painted me to be, then I would not be accepted, I would be rejected.  This constant state of trying to please others, and lying to myself on who I truly was, put me on a path of destruction that led to one extreme after another.  This unhealthy lifestyle only left me feeling empty, and I knew I had to break free from my own self, my own fear, in order to live a life with the purpose I have been called to.

“Do not fear for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

We are not alone on the journey we have been called to.  Yes, the journey is fearful, and the unknown can fill us with anxiety, but the peace comes from knowing that you have been called to a purpose.  That purpose will come to fruition as long as we allow ourselves to remove the wall of fear that has been blocking our way for far too long.  I encourage you, take the sledge hammer, and knock down the wall of fear that has been built, then begin to walk the path of freedom to live the life of purpose you have been called to.
